Owner-Strength, Pilates &  Boxing Coach

Anna Kerevan is the owner of Teddy’s Boxing & Fitness and grew up right here in Sidney. She’s spent over 17 years in the boxing industry as a fighter, coach, gym owner, and promoter, building her career in Vancouver before bringing it back home. What started in 2008 as a way to manage stress quickly became a lifelong passion for a sport that’s equal parts challenging and therapeutic.


With over a decade of experience as a personal trainer and instructor, Anna blends boxing, strength, and Pilates into classes that are both effective and intentional. Certified in Mat Pilates, her approach focuses on building strength, improving movement, and helping people feel confident in their bodies—whether it’s their first class or their hundredth.


Anna is passionate about creating a space where people feel welcome, supported, and pushed in the best way. Her coaching style is relaxed but detail-driven, with a strong focus on form, good energy, and playlists that keep you moving.


JEN

Strength Instructor & Kickboxing Coach

Jen Klein brings a dynamic blend of athletic experience, technical skill, and coaching expertise to Teddy’s. Raised overseas, she developed her foundation through competitive team sports in Dubai before going on to excel in NCAA Division III collegiate soccer in the United States. Jen discovered her passion for martial arts during law school and earned her 1st Dan blackbelt in kickboxing (NAKMAS, UK), with a focus on precision, speed, and technical skill.


A NASM-certified personal trainer and Kettlebell Level 1 & 2 coach, Jen is also the owner of Fortitude First, where she trains firefighters and law enforcement as occupational athletes. A mother of two, she brings a grounded, hard-working approach to helping clients build strength and resilience. Jen is is also a UK qualified lawyer and Registered Clinical Counsellor, bringing a unique depth to her coaching.


Selma Yazganogl

Boxing Coach

Selma earned an honors degree in theoretical mathematics, where she developed a passion for boxing and fitness. She has trained at Studio 4, Island Boxing, and Victoria Martial Arts, and has been boxing for over three years. 

Currently studying exercise physiology and having just applied to medical school, Selma has also participated in a fight camp at Victoria Martial Arts (VMA) for the Be First tournament, although her fight was canceled due to a lack of female competitors. During her time at VMA, she was the only woman in the advanced boxing class for an extended period. 

In addition to boxing, Selma's strength in weightlifting saw her achieve a personal best of 350 lbs in the deadlift. Her goal in teaching boxing is to focus on the fundamentals and technical aspects of punching while delivering a great workout.


LOREN

Kickboxing & Boxing Coach

Loren brings over 18 years of martial arts experience to Teddy’s, beginning his journey at just 12 years old. His competitive career includes a WKA World title, WKC World title, and five Canadian national championships, reflecting both his high-level skill and long-standing dedication to the sport.


His coaching blends discipline with approachability, creating an environment where clients of all levels—from beginners to experienced athletes—can build confidence, structure, and mental resilience. Loren is also an advocate for holistic health, supporting initiatives like Rock Steady Boxing, which uses boxing to improve quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.


LARA

Boxing Coach

Lara Bannister brings over 11 years of boxing experience to Teddy’s, including time in the ring and several years of coaching. She discovered boxing while working in Vancouver and has since trained in cities around the world, drawing inspiration from top coaches, including New Zealand Olympian Alexis Pritchard.


Lara is passionate about helping people build a strong technical foundation while making boxing approachable and enjoyable for all levels. She values the sense of connection that gyms create and believes deeply in the mental strength boxing develops—both inside and outside of the gym.


NICK

Boxing Coach

Nick Driedger brings over 20 years of combat sport experience to Teddy’s as a former professional MMA fighter and pro boxer, once ranked #7 in Canada. Originally from Houston, Texas and raised in Gordon Head, Nick got into boxing to learn how to protect himself and his siblings—quickly turning it into a lifelong pursuit.


His coaching blends skill development with high-energy conditioning, grounded in his ethos: train hard, sweat hard, have fun. Nick is passionate about connecting with people through boxing and helping others experience the same confidence and growth the sport has given him. SARAH

Strength & Yoga Instructor

Sarah Campbell is a passionate and dynamic instructor specializing in strength training, Total Body Conditioning (TBC), and fitness-based yoga. Having called Sidney home for over 40 years, she brings a strong sense of connection into every class she leads. She is also the main fitness program facilitator at the Shoal Centre, with extensive experience coaching a wide range of ages and abilities.


Since beginning her teaching journey in 2011, Sarah has been dedicated to helping people move with confidence and purpose. Her classes focus on proper form, functional movement, and building strength in a way that supports long-term health and resilience.


CHASE

Boxing Coach

Chase Tuftin brings over 12 years in the sport and 9 years of coaching experience to Teddy’s. Originally from Prince George and now based in Victoria, he is BoxingBC certified and has coached athletes at all levels, cornering over 50 fights and working with both provincial and national medalists.


Chase found boxing as a way to build confidence and quickly turned it into a path of growth and purpose. His coaching focuses on developing both skill and self-belief, with a passion for helping people transform into more confident, capable versions of themselves. And yes—he loves a good liver shot.


MELANIE

Yoga Instructor

Melanie Talson is a Peninsula local, born and raised, and a proud mom of two teenagers. She discovered yoga over 25 years ago and was immediately drawn to how it supports both physical strength and mental balance alongside an active lifestyle.


A registered yoga teacher since 2015, Melanie has been a trusted presence in the local yoga community. Her classes focus on building flexibility, stability, and strength while creating a sense of ease in both body and mind. Accessible, grounding, and encouraging, her approach meets you where you’re at—and if you think you’re “not flexible enough” for yoga, that’s exactly why she’d love to see you in class.
